Bryant Pays Price For Slur

NBA star Kobe Bryant recently found out that hurling anti-gay slurs on the court just doesn't pay out in the end.

During a recent game, Bryant became displeased with referee Bennie Adams after being charged with a flagrant foul and decided to retaliate by releasing a slur laced barrage at Adams. Broadcasters noted that Bryant's lips could be easily read, and urged the camera crew working the game to "take the camera off him right now for the children watching at home."

Bryant has since apologized for the incident, saying that he means no disrespect to the gay and lesbian community. The damage has been done already, however, as many pro gay and lesbian organizations have already begun to criticize the star athlete.

The NBA has also announced that it has fined Bryant $100,000 for his actions. Maybe after this incident gets its allotted publicity, athletes might just find that hurling insults and scream like spoiled children during a game just isn't the way to go
